THE CHALLENGE

E-COMMERCE PLATFORM DESIGN DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION

Delivery of an e-commerce platform with ongoing hosting, management and fulfilment support for a market leading supplier of interior products.

DIAGNOSIS

Working with local management, the 4D Team scoped out the setting up of an e-commerce platform to develop a new channel for the supply of products to the B2B and B2C segments. Market research and technological scoping was carried out to define the optimum technical and commercial solution prior to the development and delivery of the required functionality.

DEVELOPMENT

  The 4D team designed and developed a fully integrated e-commerce website
  Back office support was provided for the ongoing management and development of the site and processing of customers’ orders.
  A project management tool was designed and delivered to facilitate the easier upload of bulk products to the site and to allow real time pricing comparisons and management to maximise margin and competitive advantage.

DIFFERENT

The 4D methodology enabled detailed scoping of the project with the client locally in the UK whilst the website build, development, hosting and ongoing management was carried out by the back-office team in India in accordance with the agreed brief.  By taking full advantage of the time difference, work could be carried out over-night for review by the UK team the following day.  This enabled a very rapid and cost-effective implementation to meet the clients’ aggressive deadline.  Long term hosting, SEO, social media and Adwords management provides highly cost effective commercial and technical support.
